General Description The VS Manager is responsible for overseeing logistics operations, managing operating costs, manpower requisition, inventory accuracy, and ensuring adherence to operational and safety procedures. Additionally, the VAS Manager will supervise new project management initiatives and support continuous improvement across all areas. Key Responsibilities 1. Logistics and Operations Management *Oversee logistics operations to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. *Manage operating costs and budget for the logistics and warehouse operations. *Ensure accurate inventory management and adherence to operational procedures. 2. Process Optimization and Documentation *Optimize current processes and implement best practices for both VAS technology and production operations. *Create and manage technical and process documentation associated with VAS technology and production processes. *Set measurable indicators, including regular reporting on metrics such as Units Per Hour (UPH) and Units Per Person Hour (UPPH). 3. Project Management and Training *Lead and ensure the successful development and implementation of new projects. *Train relevant employees and ensure the execution of new plans and processes. *Support and optimize technology and process implementation across distribution centers. 4. Vendor and Supplier Relations *Negotiate directly with technology suppliers for the introduction of new technology and products. *Address and resolve any issues related to technology or product supply. 5. Collaboration and Implementation *Work closely with VAS and production section leaders to introduce and implement operational changes. *Collaborate with project specialists to manage overall projects, including the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. *Partner with Quality Engineers and LEAN process specialists to incorporate quality standards and LEAN principles. 6. Performance Reporting *Provide detailed performance and management reports to customers. *Ensure services meet customer requirements and address any concerns promptly. 7. Safety and Compliance *Ensure staff understand, implement, and comply with Safety, Health, Security, and Quality policies and procedures. Specific Accountabilities Team Leadership *Recruit and train warehouse and administration staff. *Manage and approve staff leave applications, transport, and medical claims. *Take disciplinary action as required to maintain a productive and compliant workforce. Operational Efficiency *Ensure inventory accuracy and adherence to operational procedures. *Approve requisition of items necessary for warehouse operations. Team Performance Evaluation *Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members. *Set performance goals and objectives for team members. *Provide feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to enhance team performance. *Implement performance improvement plans as needed to address any performance issues. Skills Required *Strong knowledge of logistics and warehouse operations management. *Excellent vendor management and customer relations skills. *High sense of commitment and ability to manage staff professionally. *Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively. *Experience with process optimization and technical documentation. *Strong leadership and team management capabilities. *Proficient in performance reporting and setting measurable indicators. *Knowledge of quality standards and LEAN principles. *Solid production background with 5-7 years of experience in material surface treatment technology, specifically laser engraving. *Proven project management skills and experience supervise new project initiatives.
